It’s a NEW YEAR LADY AND GENTS. With the New Year comes resolutions for most people. If you’re one of those people, I’m here to share what my tips will be, because of course, I have some realistic resolutions or as I would like to call it…goals.
That being said, my number one resolution tip is BE REALISTIC. I obviously what to be a full time blogger one day, whether it’s tomorrow or 2030, it’s a goal, but it’s not realistic right now because there’s tons of little goals that I need to achieve first.
So my next tip is to list the little things that it would take to achieve your big goal and work on them one by one. I personally know that focusing on more than one “resolution” at a time is honestly just setting me up for failure. When you hit the first goal, then you move on to the next.
- My first goal is to get one blog post up a week. It’s so dang important in my hobby to get people to the piece that I own, walkoflaur.com.
My next tip is to set a time frame. My time frame is a blog post once a week, once I get it down, I’ll bump it up to something like 6 blog post a month. If you’re working out, start out realistically with 3 times a week instead of 6.
Keep track of it!! I have my Erin Condren planner, where I keep track of EVERYTHING, from post deadlines, to days I plan on shooting content and my iphone notes, where I write down topics that I plan to blog about in the future. If you’re working out, make a tracker! There’s so many cute one’s on pinterest! Click here to see some I have saved!
Find a support group. Hey Sarah and Katie!!! We all have the same goal, and we’re all holding each other accountable. Trust me, I NEED THIS and you probably do too. I am the WOOOORRRRSSSSTTTTT at sticking to something. I’m obviously surprised that I’ve made it this far with blogging! I mean, inconsistently made it this far. Get you a gang that have similar goals and it’ll be easier to nail them.
It’s a new year, and even though you don’t need a new year to achieve your goals, it’s definitely easier on the mind. It’s normal to fail, so if you fail, keep going. It’s okay, it’s not the end of the world. Honestly, if you don’t fail once or twice, are you even human??
If you’ve made it to the end of this, drop me a comment on what you’re working on for the New Year or what you’d like to see on walkoflaur.com! It makes it easier for me when you suggest what you are interested in seeing!
